Snow trees or snowflakes trees ( Chionanthus, Syn. Linociera Sw ) are a genus of flowering plants in the family Oleaceae ( Oleaceae ). The genus includes about 80 species worldwide.

Most species are found only in subtropical or tropical regions around the world. Only the two species C. retusus in East Asia and C. virginicus in North America growing in the temperate climate zones.

Description

There are shrubs and trees with plant height 3-25 meters. Most tropical and subtropical species are evergreen. The opposite, stalked leaves are simple and have a smooth or toothed margin.
