Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor Code ( OVSF, German: orthogonal spreading code of variable length ) is a term used in telecommunications and features a method for the separation of different signals at a variable data rate. OVSF is used in the CDMA downlink eg UMTS.

OVSF codes have a low correlation to each other, as long as no propagation time differences or echoes occur in the transmission channel.
