Chirinkotan

Tschirinkotan (Russian Остров Чиринкотан; jap越 渇 磨 岛, Chirinkotan -tō ) is a volcanic island in the Russian Kuril Islands. Tschirinkotan has an area of 9 square kilometers and is located about 30 kilometers west of Ekarma, another Kurileninsel volcanic origin.

The island, with a maximum height of 724 meters is the height of a stratovolcano, which rises 3,000 meters above sea level. The volcano last erupted in 1986 and 2004.
