Chitradurga ( Kannada: ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ Citradurga [ tʃit̪rʌd̪urɡʌ ]; Also: Chitradurg, formerly anglicised Chitaldroog ) is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka with around 140,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is located in Zentralkarnataka about 200 kilometers northwest of the capital Bangalore. The city is the administrative center of the district of Chitradurga.
