Chľaba

Chľaba ( until 1948 slovak " Helemba "; German Hellenbach, Hungarian Helemba ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia. It lies in the southeastern part of the Danube lowlands at the foot of the mountains Kováčovské Hills, at the mouth of the river Ipeľ into the Danube, 12 km from Štúrovo.

The village was first mentioned in 1138 as Chelenba. In the village live around 700 inhabitants, of which 87 % Hungarian and 12 % Slovak origin ( 2001).
