Chlístov (Rychnov nad Kněžnou District)

Chlístov ( German Chlistau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southeast of Nove Mesto nad Metují in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains and belongs to Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

Geography

Chlístov is located on a ridge above the valley of the brook Janovský creek.

Neighboring towns are Zákraví in the northeast, Ohnišov in the east, in the southeast of Val, Křovice in the south, and Březiny Běstviny in the west and Spy in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out as Liskov in 1760. According to the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1848 Chlístov was a district of Spy. 1872 Chlístov became an independent municipality. 1904, the volunteer fire department was established.

In 1960, the annexation to Val since 1991 Chlístov is again an independent municipality.
