Chongwen District
Chongwen (Chinese崇文区, Pinyin Chongwen qū ) was a district of the Chinese capital Beijing. It was disbanded on 1 July 2010 and integrated its area in the Dongcheng District.
Geography
The Metropolitan District Chongwen was southeast of the city center ( Tiananmen), and extended from Yongdingmen to Qianmen.
Chongwen had an area of 16.46 km ² and around 346,000 inhabitants. Although it was very central, the per capita income was much lower than in other parts of the city. Chongwen was the smallest of the four inner city areas, which include the Old Town.
