The stadium " Chernomorets " is a football stadium in the Ukrainian port city of Odessa. Between 2008 and 2011, the sports facility was extensively remodeled.

History

The stadium was built in 1938 to 1936 is primarily used for football matches and offered 28 164 spectators. The first division club Chernomorets Odessa was here since the club until the reconstruction in 2008 its home games. In the 2008 /09 season the club Chernomorets Odessa for two years moved into the stadium Spartak 4800 sites around.

1945-1947, 1967-1968 and in 2000, the stadium located in Shevchenko Park was redeveloped in each case. Because the Chernomorets stadium should serve as a replacement stadium for the 2012 European Football Championship, the stadium was closed in 2008 for remodeling. With the stadium renovation was planned a pure football stadium with 33,000 covered seats to build. The cost of the stadium renovation amounted to about 100 million U.S. dollars and were taken over by the club owner. In 2011, the rebuilt stadium was reopened with 34,164 seats.

In the years 2004-2007 and 2013 Ukrainian Super Cup finals were held in the stadium. In addition, three matches of the Ukrainian national team played in the stadium.
