The Monte Pasubio Mountain Grasshopper ( Chortopodisma cobellii ) is a grasshopper from the family of grasshoppers ( Acrididae ).

Features

The Monte Pasubio Mountain grasshopper is similar to the Monte Baldo Mountain Locust. It has no wings. The organ of hearing is regressed to small remnants. The body is colored light green. The type, in comparison with other wingless mountain terror on only a significantly shortened dark longitudinal band on the flanks of the body. In general, it only extends to the posterior margin of the pronotum lateral lobes. In the males, the longitudinal band can also pass on to the rear and is then dissolved into individual patches. The underside of the rear leg is orange. The rear rails are yellow.

Occurrence and life

The species is endemic to the Italian Alps. It is so far known only from a very limited area around the Pasubio at altitudes from 1600 to 2200 meters. Adult animals are found from August to October.
