Chris Chocola

Joseph Christopher " Chris " Chocola ( born February 24, 1962 in Jackson, Michigan) is an American politician. Between 2003 and 2007 he represented the State of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Chris Chocola attended to 1984 the Hillsdale College in Michigan. Then he studied until 1988 at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing Jura. In the meantime, he worked in the banking industry. Since 1988 he was a consultant for the company CTB International in Milford operates the marketed agricultural products. After that, he worked in the administration of the company and in 1994 was its CEO. In 2002, CTB was sold to Berkshire Hathaway, a holding company of billionaire Warren Buffett.

Politically Chocola was a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 2002 he was in the second electoral district of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Mike Pence on 3 January 2003. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2007, two legislative sessions. In this time of war in Iraq and the military mission in Afghanistan fell. Chocola was a member of the Committee on Agriculture, the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Small Business. He was regarded as supporters of President George W. Bush.

In 2006, Chocola defeated Democrat Joe Donnelly. Since 2009 he is the successor of Pat Toomey as Chairman of the Club for Growth, a conservative political action committee, which deals mainly with financial matters.

Chris Chocola has a daughter and a son with his wife. Privately, he lives in Bristol.
