Chris Jespersen

Chris Jespersen (born 18 October 1983) is a Norwegian cross-country skier.

Life and career

Jespersen could have international success especially in the junior age. At the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Schonach he finished fifth 10-kilometer freestyle. A year later he won the gold medal in the 30 km freestyle distance. About 10 km classic he finished ninth. In the U23 Junior World Championships in Kranj 2006, he missed a medal in fourth classic just over 15 kilometers.

His first try at the Cross Country World Cup had Jespersen in December 2003 the 30 km free style. However, when 72 of 79 classified athletes he could not convince. In the following years, he could not prevail against strong national competition, and had up to 2007/ 08 season only 3 more bets in the World Cup, of which he did not finish two races and once placed as 50th. His biggest success Jespers in February 2008, when he won the World Cup in Falun with the second Norwegian season. This season he started mainly in cross-country skiing Continental. There he could boast the eighth place in the overall standings of the Scandinavian Cup at the end of the season. Beginning of the season of cross-country skiing World Cup 2008/ 09 in Gällivare Jespersen justify his nomination to the 13th place on 15 km freestyle, reaching his best result in a single competition.
