Because of his moving life story - his fiancee had two weeks before the wedding in a serious car accident and has since become a nursing case - he still got a record deal immediately and Rodney Jerkins wrote to him with What Are Words a fitting song to history. With number 83 in the U.S. charts is kept of success but within limits.

In Sweden, the song held eight weeks at No. 1 on the charts in Norway, there were even eleven weeks on the chart peak. There, the song was so popular that Chris Medina was invited to sing at a memorial event for the victims of the attacks in Norway, 2011 and at a private funeral.

Medina named after the song debut album reached the end of 2011 in Norway and Sweden the Top 10 of the respective album charts. But outside of Scandinavia, he was able to achieve any significant success in Europe.
