Chris Norbury

Chris Norbury ( born August 14, 1986 in Accrington, Lancashire ) is an English snooker player.

Career

Norburys greatest success in the youth was reaching the finals at the U-19 European Championship in 2005, where he lost just under Mark Allen. In the same year he was able to secure participation in the Snooker Main Tour on 5th place in the Challenge Tour ranking. In his first year he reached the Grand Prix the Round of 32 and with two other Erstrundensiegen he managed 76th place in the season billing, thus qualifying for a further year. In the 2006/07 season but he could not sufficiently improve themselves, to keep themselves in the top 64 and thus on the main tour.

So Norbury had to try in the next few years to re-qualify on the DIOS tournaments. In the 2008 /09 season he missed despite a tournament victory by 10 points, the top 8 overall. However, as the winner of the series Joe Jogia was qualified by a wildcard, he moved on for him. However, his second start as a professional was disappointing as he was eliminated in five of the six ranking tournaments in the first round and two wins at the China Open this could not make up.

Although he tried in the next two years, both on the Players Tour Championship as well as the Q School, his Main Tour return failed. Only in the 2012/13 season he gained even without outstanding result enough points just to secure as the eighth and final qualifying spot in the amateur class and thus another professional tour year through regular participation in the PTC.
