Christ Falling on the Way to Calvary (Raphael)

Christ Carrying the Cross ( "Lo Spasimo di Sicilia " ), now in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, is a created around 1514 to 1517 painting by Raphael and his workshop. Originally painted in oil on wood, it has been transferred to canvas early 19th century.

History

On behalf of Giacomo Basilico Raphael painted the picture for the church of the monastery of Santa Maria Olivetans Spasimo in Palermo.
