Christer Pettersson

Carl Gustaf Christer Pettersson ( born April 23, 1947 in Solna, † September 29, 2004 ibid ) was one of the main suspects in the case of the murder of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme in February 1986.

Pettersson was convicted after intensive investigations by the Swedish police in 1989 before a Swedish court. In the second instance, however, he was acquitted because the investigators had given at the decisive confrontation of the Palmes widow a tip that pointed to Petterson. Pettersson subsequently received 300,000 Swedish crowns as compensation for detention. From this time he earned money selling his story to newspapers.

Pettersson died on 29 September 2004 at the age of 57 years at the Karolinska in Solna, near Stockholm Sjukhuset from severe head injuries. There he was admitted 13 days earlier after he had suffered severe cerebral hemorrhage in a fall.

On 2 February 2007, the long-time girlfriend Pettersson told to a journalist of the newspaper Aftonbladet that Pettersson had confessed to her over the murder of Olof Palme.

The petty criminals were therefore compared to his lover as a motive, he had a friend, " helped " who wanted to take because of tax problems revenge on palm as head of government.
