Ruled and resided in Arnstadt since 1642; Christian Günther II of Schwarzburg- Sondershausen to Arnstadt († September 10, 1666 born April 1, 1616).

Life

Count Christian Gunther II was the son of Count Christian Günther I of Schwarzburg- Sondershausen (1578-1642), and his wife Countess Anna Sibille (1584-1623), the daughter of Count Albrecht VII of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt.

After the death of his father, the brothers divided the county to each other and Christian Günther II received the entire supremacy with the residence town of Arnstadt.

Progeny

Christian Günther II was 1645 with Sophie Dorothee († 1685), daughter of Duke George of Mörsperg and Beffort, married and had with her the following children:

  • Sibille Juliane (1646-1698) ∞ Henry I of Reuss- Obergreiz (1668-1681)
  • Sophie Dorothee (1647-1708) ∞ Count Ernst of Stolberg -Ilse Castle (1650-1710)
  • Clara Sabine (1648-1698)

  • Catharina Eleonore (1653-1685)
  • Johann Gunther IV (1654-1669), Count of Arnstadt, died unmarried and without issue
