Christian Hjermind

Christian Hjermind (born 25 July 1973 in Copenhagen, Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player. He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 86 kg.

Career

Christian Hjermind began with the handball game at Virum Sorgenfri HK, where he already met his future companions Ian Marko Fog and Klavs Bruun Jørgensen. After his move to HIK Håndbold he made his debut in 1994 in the Danish Håndboldligaen. The Right Wing Quick was one of the top performers of his team, became a national player and second-best in the season 1994/95 scorer in the league. In 1996 he wanted to switch to a Danish top club like KIF Kolding or GOG Gudme, but when the German club SG Flensburg- Handewitt inquired and Hjermind took them under contract. With the promotion townspeople he won in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2000, the German vice-championship, the 2000 DHB Supercup, 1997 EHF Cup and the 1999 City Cup and the 2001 European Cup Winners' Cup; In 1997 he was elected to the Danish handball player of the year.

Hjermind adopted in 2001 in Flensburg and switched to BM Ciudad Real in the Spanish league ASOBAL. Here he won the 2003 Copa del Rey de Balonmano as well as 2002 and 2003, the European Cup Winners' Cup. At age 30, he returned to his native Denmark and hired at KIF Kolding, where he was again 2005 and 2006 Danish Champion and 2005 and 2007 Danish Cup winners. During the 2007 season, his old employer BM Ciudad Real called again: Hjerminds successor Mirza Džomba wanted to leave Ciudad Real in the summer of 2007 in Zagreb, but the scheduled as a substitute Luc abalone wanted to come until the summer of 2008. So Hjermind promised to want to help out again for his old club in the 2007/ 08 season.

Hjermind returned in January 2008 back to Kolding, as the squad of Ciudad Real were too many foreigners and with Roberto García Parrondo another winger could be required. From March 2008, he worked at KIF as a manager. Then Hjermind had ended his career as a player, but he was reactivated in the 2008 /09 season again, as KIF had to complain several injury-related failures. After the Dane 2009 KIF won the Danish championship, he was subsequently active only as a manager. In November 2010 he gave up this office and founded his own company.

Christian Hjermind played in his career, 170 caps for the Danish men's national handball team. In statistics, the most goal for his country he has 595 hits fifth place. At the European Championships in 2002 and 2004 he won bronze.
