Christian Moser

Christian Moser ( born December 20, 1972 in Villach ) is a former Austrian ski jumper.

Career

On January 4, 1990 Moser started as Springer within the national group at the Four Hills Tournament for the first time at a World Cup competition in Innsbruck and ended the World Cup than 72 Also, two days later he could only reach the 74th place in Bischofshofen. Only in the 1992/93 season turned out to be a success. In the first competition on December 13, 1992 in Ruhpolding, he was able to draw attention to himself with space 24 on the large hill. On December 19, he could even reach the 8th Place and thus his first top- 10 ranking in Sapporo, Japan. After he finished the season at the 51st place in the overall World Cup standings, he was also in the following season in the National squad. After a good start to the season with places in midfield, he was nominated for the Austrian team for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. In Lillehammer, he reached with the team, together with Heinz Kuttin, Stefan and Andreas Goldberger Horngacher the bronze medal. He also reached on the normal hill a surprising 10th place and on the large hill to the 26th place. Two weeks after the games he won with the team the World Cup team competition in Lahti and thus was the first time in his career on the podium. Just a day later, he could reach the second place and thus another podium finish in the individual competition on the normal hill. After a very successful 1994/95 season he was able to prove the 21th overall in the World Cup. The following 1995/96 was rather less successful. Only with the team he could jump in Lahti once again on the podium, but this time not as victors, but only as a second. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1995 Canadian Thunder Bay he could only reach the 15th place on the normal hill and the 41st place on the large hill in the individual competition. In the team event, he came together with Andreas Widhölzl, Reinhard Schwarzenberger and Andreas Goldberger only on the 6th and last place. After five more World Cup competition following the World Cup Moser finished after jumping in Hakuba on 26 Jan 1997 his active career Springer.
