Christian Niccum

Christian Niccum ( born January 27, 1978 in Minneapolis ) is an American luger.

Christian Niccum operates since 1990 sledging and exits since 1998 in international competitions. He drives in both the single-seater, and in doubles. Here he reached with Matt McClain great success in the field of youth, was four times junior world champion and ninth at the Luge World Cup in 1999. During the Luge World Cup 1998/1999 the double won two races and finished in fifth place in the overall World Cup. Later he started briefly with Brian Wohlleb ( twelfth at the Luge World Cup in 2003 ) and Jonathan N. Myles ( twelfth at the Luge World Cup in 2004 ) and then quite successful with Patrick Quinn ( ninth at the Luge World Cup 2005). 2006 missed the double qualification for the Olympic Games of Turin, just behind Preston Griffall and Dan Joye, however, Niccum competed in singles and was there 23 Since 2007, Dan Joye his doubles partner. With him he achieved at the start of the Luge World Cup 2007/ 08 in Lake Placid fifth place.
