Christian Obrist

Christian Obrist ( born November 20, 1980 in Brixen ) is an Italian athlete who specializes in the 1,500 -meter run.

Life

Obrist took part in the European Cross Country Championships in 1999 for the Italian national team. At 1500 meters final of the European Athletics Championships in 2002 in Munich and 2006 in Gothenburg he reached the finish in seventh place, respectively. At the World Championships 2003 he came to the semifinals. At the Golden Gala in Rome, he was on 13 July 2007 with 3:35,75 min, the eighth best time of the year. His greatest success was reaching the final at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he eventually crossed the finish line in twelfth. At the European Indoor Championships 2009, he was sixth at the world championships in the same year he divorced in the run- off. In Barcelona at the European Championships 2010, he came in at number seven.

His personal best he achieved in September 2007 in Rieti, where he ran the distance in 3:35,32 minutes. The South Tyrolean part of the sports group of the Carabinieri of Bologna. At a height of 1.86 m his competition weight is 66 kg.
