Christian Prochnow

Christian Prochnow ( born June 19, 1982 in Potsdam ) is a German duathlete and triathlete.

Career

Christian Prochnow began in 1997 with triathlon and currently a member of the elite team of the German Triathlon Union. He starts for the Stadtwerke Witten team and is coached by Ron Schmid.

2001 won the Potsdam at the Junior European Championship title with the team and was as at the Junior World Championship in sixth in singles. He was German duathlon champion U23 2002. 2005, Christian Prochnow was at the U23 World Cup in Japan eleventh and the following year Prochnow occupied at the German Championship in sixth place. His best year ever was 2007. With the team, he became Vice World Champion and with his club German team champion. In addition, he won the World Cup race in Hungary ninth. 2008 Prochnow was fifth at the European Cup races in Pontevedra and second at the World Cup race in Madrid. With that he stood up to the favorite Maik Petzold and Andreas Raelert in the battle for the last assignable Olympic ticket. At the games, he finished 15th place.
