Christian Schliemann

Christian Schliemann ( born July 4, 1962 in Leverkusen ) is a German former hockey goalie, he won in 1988 with the German national hockey team, the Olympic silver medal.

Christian Schliemann played at RTHC Bayer Leverkusen. In 1981, he won the European Junior Championship in 1982, he won the German team at the Junior World Championships in Kuala Lumpur. Also in 1982 debuted Schliemann in the senior team. 1983 belonged Schliemann to the German squad at the European Championships in Amstelveen, where the German team won bronze. 1984 Schliemann was in goal for the team that won the title at the European Indoor Championships. After bronze at the World Championships in London in 1986 and at the European Championships in Moscow in 1987 the German team won by Schliemann in 1988 again at the European Indoor Championships. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Schliemann was involved in two games and was otherwise ready as a replacement for Frank Tobias. At the World Cup 1990 in Lahore Schliemann took the national team to fourth place. Overall Schliemann worked from 1982 to 1991 in 112 international matches with, including 34 in the hall.

After his career Schliemann worked as a purchasing agent at Bayer AG.
