Christian Springer

Christian Springer ( born July 15, 1971 in Forchheim ) is a former German football player.

The left, mostly defensive midfielder learned his skills in his youth associations Baiersdorfer SV and SpVgg Jahn Forchheim. Then he played with SpVgg Jahn Forchheim in the national league. Then he joined the Bavarian League to TSV Vestenbergsgreuth and SC 08 Bamberg before he returned to Forchheim. There he managed to move up to the Bavarian League, where he was still in the preliminary round of the 1994/95 season in use.

During the season 1994/95 he moved to FC St. Pauli, for which he in the 2nd Bundesliga four games in his first season completed. In the following two seasons, he sat down in the Bundesliga team on through as a regular player. Following another season in the 2nd Bundesliga with a narrowly missing resurgence, he moved to the beginning of the 1998/99 season for the Bundesliga relegation 1st FC Cologne. After a disappointing first season he developed in the following season 1999/2000 to an important main part of promotion team. After another two seasons in the Bundesliga, where he still established himself as a fixture in the team, however, he had to go back to the 2nd Bundesliga accompany his club.

It was followed by three more seasons in which he picked up his fourth personal promotion to the Bundesliga after the re-emergence and subsequent decline. Unlike the first season Cologne rise Springer, however, had lost the status of the permanent pool player at each changing competition in midfield. Nevertheless, he was always appreciated for its flexibility in being employed in the midfield and heading ability from set-pieces.

His contract at FC Cologne 1 ran until the end of the season 2005/06. The contract was not extended, the first FC Cologne adopted him already at the last home game this season. Springer ended his footballing career. The thought of another employment in a different function in the club for the time being discarded by itself and opted for the free economy Springer. Since August 2006, Springer worked as Manager Staff Sports.
