Christian Süß

Christian Suss ( born July 28, 1985 in Ahlen ( Westphalia ) ) is a German table tennis player. He currently plays with the German record champions Borussia Dusseldorf in the table tennis league.

Career

As a six- year-old Christian Suss left his hometown club Ahlener SG and joined the TTC Green White Bad Hamm, where he remained until 1998. He then played one season with the TSG Dülmen in the Regionalliga. In 2000, he helped the TTC Altena to the rise of the big leagues in the Regionalliga. Since 2001 he is under contract with Borussia Dusseldorf, with whom he repeatedly won the German team championship and the Champions League. In October 2003, Sweet played for the first time in the national team, with whom he won several European titles.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he reached with the German national team after victories over Croatia, Canada, Singapore and Japan the final, which was lost 0-3 to hosts China. At the German Championships 2010 in Trier, he was a final victory against the favored Timo Boll first time German champion in singles.

2005 Sweet became the first athlete with the Honorary Medal of the State of North Rhine -Westphalia.
