Christian Ulrich I, Duke of Württemberg-Oels

Christian Ulrich I of Württemberg - Oels ( born April 9, 1652 Castle in Oels oil; † April 5, 1704 ibid ) was Duke of Württemberg- oil.

Family

Christian Ulrich I was the third son of the Duke Silvius Nimrod of Württemberg- Oels from his marriage to the Erbherzogin Elisabeth Marie of oil which daughter of Duke Karl Friedrich I. Podiebrad of Oels and Anne Sophie of Saxe- Weimar.

Regency

Christian Ulrich I received after the death of his brother Charles Ferdinand in 1669, the Duchy of Württemberg- Bernstadt part. Handed over this but after the death of his other brother Silvius Friedrich 1697 to his nephew Karl, and took over the duchies Oels and Juliusburg with Medzibor and parts of Trebnitzgrund.

Duke Christian Ulrich I had built in 1698 as an extension of the palace and Hofkirche St. John a royal crypt chapel. He also put on lock Oels a significant art and book collection and bought in 1685 the district of Neudorf von Balthasar Wilhelm Prittwitz, Mr. on Rastelwitz, and let here 1685-1692 a baroque palace built, which according to his second wife Sibylle Marie of Saxe- Merseburg named Castle Sibyllenort.
