Christian Wilhelm Blomstrand
Christian Wilhelm Blomstrand ( born October 20, 1826 in Växjö, Southern Sweden, † November 5, 1897 in Lund ) was a Swedish chemist.
He received his doctorate in 1850 at the University of Lund, two years later became a lecturer in 1856 and adjunct chemistry in Lund. From 1862 to 1895 he was a professor in Lund.
In 1865, he found that the niobium compounds discovered by Heinrich Rose have been mixtures of niobium and tantalum oxides.
