Christof Duffner

Christof Duffner ( born December 16, 1971 in Triberg im Schwarzwald ) is a former German ski jumper.

Career

Duffner grew up in Schonwald im Schwarzwald. For jumping he came at the age of eleven years. He was, together with the former GDR Springer André Kiesewetter of the first German ski jumpers who achieved success with the new V- style. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, he won with Dieter Thoma, Jens Weißflog and Hansjörg Jäkle the gold medal in the team competition. His biggest success was winning the individual jumping in Oberstdorf at the Four Hills Tournament 1992 /93. In the Ski Flying World Championships 1994 in Planica he jumped for the first time over 200 m. Officially, the width was not recognized because he could not stand the flight.

At the beginning of the 1998/99 season Duffner was not able to his old successes and intended after several competitions where he was eliminated after the first passage, already his retirement from professional ski jumping. However, he was taken on the initiative of the national coach Reinhard Hess in the squad for the 1999 Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau. Despite his fall in the second round he reached with the team together with Dieter Thoma, Sven Hanna forest and Martin Schmitt ahead of Japan and Austria square one. In early November 2002, Duffner broke in training camp the left upper arm and started only late in the World Cup. In the 2003 /04 season he jumped only in the Continental Cup. Christof Duffner adopted on 22 March 2004 with a flight to 191.5 m as a fore at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica of his active career.

Private

Duffner has a twin sister and a younger sister. Christof Duffner has been married since December 2006 and has three girls ( triplets ). He is a trained toolmaker and was stationed as a sergeant in the army in the sports promotion group Todtnau at Feldberg. Today Duffner is a teacher of art and works. He also has the coaching license and supports the Black Forest offspring.
