Christoph John

Christoph John ( born December 24, 1958 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German football coach.

Christoph John grew up in Heidenheim. He was active in both the Heidenheimer SB and the amateurs of the 1st FC Cologne, then under Erich Rutemöller. As a sports student at the Cologne Sports University, he worked for the 1st FC Cologne as a youth soccer coach, in these years he worked side by side with the back then in the football field of youth active coaches Christoph Daum, Roland Koch (1st FC Cologne assistant coach ) and Frank Schaefer ( 1 FC Köln U23 ). He coached the 1st FC Cologne from 28 January to 14 February 2002 as a temporary solution until he was replaced by Friedhelm glitter. In the pros, he was not successful in 3 championship games, there were 3 losses, reached by an away win at Hertha BSC (1:2 aet ) for the " Billy Goats " the DFB Cup semi-final. He coached until 30 June 2007, the amateurs of the 1st FC Cologne, where he was responsible for the construction of the entire youth club in the first place.

In May 2008, Christopher John was introduced as the new head coach of the Wuppertal SV Borussia. After a prolonged decline of the club in recent games of the first round of the 3rd Liga ( 2008/ 2009) Christoph John was on leave December 22, 2008 with immediate effect as coach of Wuppertal SV. October 3, 2009 Christopher John was presented as an assistant coach Friedhelm glitter at Hertha BSC.

John was from July 2010 also at VfL Bochum Funkels assistant. After four defeats in a row and the crash at table number 17 in the 2nd Bundesliga, the coaching team was dismissed in September 2011. After Funkel only five days later the head coach post at Premier League rivals Alemannia Aachen took over, John followed him again as an assistant coach. After five defeats in a row and seven points behind a non-relegation place the duo in Aachen was suspended on 1 April 2012.
