Christopher Andrew (historian)

Christopher Andrew ( born July 23, 1941) is a British historian, professor at the University of Cambridge and author.

At Cambridge, he heads the working group British Intelligence Study Group, which systematically deals with the topic intelligence. International and outside the professional community, he was known for his seminal publications on the former Soviet KGB, which he co-authored with the KGB defector Vasili Mitrokhin. His close and trusting relationship with the British intelligence services meant that he was tasked with access to the archives of MI5 to write its official history.
