Christopher Monckton, 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley

Christopher Walter Monckton, 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley ( born February 14, 1952) is a British politician, public speaker, former newspaper editor and hereditary peer.

As a former member of the Conservative Party in 2010, he moved to the right-wing populist UK Independence Party. He had previously worked at Conservative Central Office and in the 1980s by Margaret Thatcher in the Number 10 Policy Unit. On him the invention of the Eternity puzzle goes back.

Personal

He was the eldest son of Major-General Gilbert Monckton, 2nd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley and Marianna Letitia (nee Bower ), former High Sheriff of Kent and Dame of Malta born. He himself is of Honour and Devotion Knight of the Order. Monckton has three brothers and a sister, Rosa Monckton, who is married to Dominic Lawson. He was educated as Roman Catholics.

When his father died in 1996 he inherited the title Viscount. This is since the introduction of the House of Lords Act 1999, no longer with a hereditary seat in the House of Lords (House of Lords) connected. Monckton still referred to himself several times as a member of the British House of Lords (though without a seat and voting rights ). In July 2011 the House of Lords officially declared Monckton " was not a member of the upper house and never has been " and called on Monckton to refrain from further allegations in this respect in the future.

Political positions

1987 earned Monckton sharp criticism for his claim that the only way to stop AIDS, permanent and compulsory quarantine of all HIV -positive people would. In an interview in 2007 Monckton said, that according to his proposals " lobby groups howled " could and spoke in this context of a " homosexual lobby ".

The said EU skeptic Monckton favors a withdrawal of Britain from the European Union, which he describes as " anti-democratic ".

He is known as climate skeptics and also writes regular contributor to EIKE. With his thesis but he came across sharp contradiction with scientists, among others, in 2010 in an opinion of 21 climate researchers.

At the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in 2009 announced Monckton, it threatened the establishment there of a " communist world government."
