The church of St. Christopher in the district Schierstein the Hessian capital Wiesbaden is a Protestant church, which was built in 1752-1754 in the style of the expiring Baroque and Rococo.

History

Once in 1752 collapsed a part of the tower of the old Schiersteiner church building plans that had already been discussed in previous years, were suddenly urgent. Sämtliches carving comes from the Frankfurter wood sculptor Johann Daniel Schnorr. It is interesting as a symbol of absolutism on the pulpit the Nassauische coat of arms: The subject who looks up to the preachers of the gospel, should never forget that he also has a secular Lord and that the sermon also expresses the royal will. It is the coat of arms of the sovereign Charles of Nassau- Usingen. We find the Schiersteiner coat of arms on the right side of the pulpit. The altar cross is from the contemporary metal sculptor Professor Klump ( Wiesbaden). Evident are gold with rock crystal as a symbol of Christ, 12 rubies for the apostles and the sign of the feeding of the five thousand.
