ChrzÄ…szczyce

Chrzumczütz (Polish Chrząszczyce ) is a village in Upper Silesia. Chrzumczütz belongs to the municipality Proskau ( Prószków ) in Opolski powiat (district Opole ) in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Chrzumczütz is located four kilometers north of the parish seat Proskau and eight kilometers south of the county town of Opole voivodship and ( Opole ).

History

In 1260 the village was mentioned for the first time, where it appeared under " Cremchici ". 1814 there was a great fire in which a majority of the houses were destroyed. Between 1933 and 1945 the village was called Schönkirch. In 1950, there came to Opole Voivodeship.

Attractions

  • Catholic Parish Church ( Kościół pw Matki Boskiej Szkaplerznej ): It is one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings of the village, which dates back to the year 1260. 1814, the church was destroyed by fire. It was not until 1927 that the present church was rebuilt, as the Prussian authorities refused a new building.
