Chu (state)

Chu (Chinese楚, Pinyin Chǔ, W.-G. Ch'u ) was a kingdom in what is now southern China during the Western Zhou Dynasty ( 1046 BC to 771 BC), the period of Spring and autumn Annals ( 722-481 BC) and the time of the Warring States Period ( 475-221 BC).
