Chuck Deardorf

Chuck Deardorf ( born April 3, 1954) is an American jazz musician ( bass, bass guitar) and high school teachers.

Life and work

Deardorf heard since the mid- 1980s the music scene of Seattle and since then occurs predominantly in the northwestern United States. Throughout his career, he accompanied gas animal musicians like Chet Baker, Kenny Barron, Kenny Burrell, George Cables, Larry Coryell, Art Farmer, Mel Lewis, Abbey Lincoln, Howard Roberts, Jimmy Rowles, Zoot Sims, Bucky Pizzarelli, Bud Shank, Joe Williams and vocalists like Kurt Elling and Ernestine Anderson. 2011 published by Origin Records his recording debut Transparence, which he recorded with Bruce Forman (guitar ), Hans Teuber and Richard Cole ( sax ), Mark Ivester and Gary Hobbs (drums ) and Jovino Santos Neto and pianist Bill Mays.

Deardorf is Professor and Head of the Jazz Department at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. He regularly performs with the Brazilian composer and pianist Jovino Santos Neto and Deardorf - Peterson Group. Deardorf is married to the singer and author Kelly Harland.
