Chulumani

Chulumani is a country town in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Chulumani is the seat of government of the province of Sud Yungas and the central location of the county ( bolivian: Municipio) Chulumani. The village is situated on a mountain ridge at an altitude of 1753 m thirty kilometers to the west of Río Boopi, a source of the river Río Beni.

Geography

Chulumani is located in the Bolivian Yungas on the eastern slopes of the high mountain ridge of the Cordillera Real. The climate is a typical diurnal climate, in which the mean variation of daily temperatures is more distinct than the seasonal variation.

The mean average temperature of the region is 21 ° C (see climate chart Chulumani ), the average monthly values ​​vary only slightly between 18 ° C in July and 22 ° C in December. The annual rainfall is about 1150 mm, the monthly rainfall between about 20 mm in the months of June and July, and more than 150 mm from December to February.

Chulumani lies at a distance of 129 kilometers of road east of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Route 3 leads in a northeasterly direction 60 miles to Unduavi, then branches off the unpaved Ruta 25 in a southeasterly direction and reaches after 69 kilometers Chulumani. From there it leads by the villages Inquisivi and Independencia ( Ayopaya ) and, after 412 kilometers at Vinto on the Ruta 4, which reaches 15 km further Cochabamba.
