The Chungbuk National University ( English: Chungbuk National University, in short: CBNU ) is a state university in South Korea. It is located in Gaesin -dong, Heungdeok -gu, Cheongju Chungcheongbuk -do.

The name Chungbuk ( 충북 ) is the short form of Chungcheongbuk -do ( 충청 북도 ).

History

The university was ( 청주 초급 농과 대학, 2- year) founded in September 1951 as a provincial agricultural college Cheongju. In January 1953, she then became the 4-year Agricultural University, in April 1956 the provincial university Chungbuk ( 충북 대학 ). In March 1962, she was merged with the University of Chungnam National University Chungcheong. In March 1963, but was divided into two state universities again.

In 1968, she founded the Graduate School, and in December 1977, the college became the Chungbuk National University with four colleges ( faculties): engineering, agricultural sciences, education and social sciences.
