Chwałkowo Kościelne

Chwałkowo Kościelne ( German Neudorf 1939-43, 1943-45 Walkau ) is a village in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in powiat Sremski. The population of Chwałkowo Kościelne is 730 people. Towns nearby are Kolacin, MCHY and Książ Wielkopolski. Despite the small population, there are locally a kindergarten and a primary school.

Attractions

• The Church of the Archangel Michael, It was built in 1819 and has a neo-Gothic presbytery (1891 ). The tower dates from the year 1904. Inside, there are fragments of a late Gothic bas-reliefs of the Adoration of the Magi and a predella with the scene The women at the grave of 1500.

• A farmhouse from the 19th century
• An inn from the time of the turn of the 18th to the 19th century; now converted into a dwelling house
• The monument of great Polish insurgents in the cemetery with the figure of the Sacred Heart.
