The Evolution is the second album of the American R & B singer Ciara. It was published on 5 December 2006 in North America and on 13 April 2007 in Germany. Although the album was mostly criticized it came to Ciara on the top of the Billboard 200 was sold in the first week, with 338 000 times. Although the album was generally more successful than her debut album Goodies was once certified platinum by the RIAA.

During an MTV interview Ciara stated that she in Ciara: The Evolution wanted to get out ten times their debut album Goodies.
