Cicindela

Cicindela sylvatica Linnaeus 1758

Cicindela is a genus of the subfamily of tiger beetles.

Features

The beetles are large. Your bottom is mostly metallic colorful, the top is, however, usually green to brown and has a characteristic white (at least bright ) spot drawing on. The eyes are large, prominent and wider than the pronotum. The upper jaw is serrated, long and rises above the upper lip far. The sensors are elfgliedrig. They sit within the roots of the upper jaw at the front edge of the end. The first four antennal segments are hairless. The wings are well trained. The legs are slender and long. In the male the first three terms of Vordertarsen are significantly expanded.
