CIGO-FM

101.5 The Hawk ( CIGO - FM) is a private radio station in Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. The adult contemporary station to be received on the FM frequency 101.5.

CIGO -FM began broadcasting its program on 29 October 1975, medium wave. In November 1999, the station received to send the approval to FM. The transmitter supplies the Counties Inverness, Richmond, Antigonish and Guysborough, but can also be received in adjacent areas.

On 8 June 2010 requested the operator of the transmitter, MacEachern Broadcasting Limited, an increase in the transmission power. The competent authority approved this and the station increased on 17 September 2010, the transmission power of 19,000 to 40,000 watts.
