Cilo

Cilo ( Cilo SA) was a Swiss bicycle manufacturer who logged 2002 bankruptcy. Before the bikes in Romanel- sur -Lausanne were produced in the canton of Vaud. " Cilo " is an acronym for " Cycles Jean Lausanne- Oron ". The abbreviation of the name " Jean " was transformed into "i" for pronunciation in French. " Lausanne- Oron " refers to a holding company in Lausanne and is related to the industrialization of the city at the turn of the 20th century.

The Swiss Hansknecht drove a Cilo wheel when he won the 1946 world road championships. Other well-known Swiss riders were Beat Breu, Daniel Gisiger and Tony Rominger.
