Cimarron Manifesto is the tenth studio album by American country and folk musician Jimmy LaFave, which he published in May 2007.

Background

Cimarron Manifesto consists of nine original and three cover songs. Except for the songs Catch the Wind ( Donovan ), Not Dark Yet (Bob Dylan ) and Walk a Mile in My Shoes (Joe South ) are all written by LaFave.

He was supported, among others, Ruthie Foster and Kacy Crowley, and Carrie Rodriguez, who was heard on the violin. The artist produced the CD itself

The album was released on 8 May 2007 on CD. Cimarron Manifesto was LaFaves tenth studio album and his 13th overall publication. It followed the 2005 published Blue Nightfall. His next studio album in October 2012, he brought with DEPENDING ON the Distance out.

Reception

The album received mainly positive reviews. Thom Jurek of Allmusic awarded four out of five stars. It is an album " for all of us ." LaFave had a run and make no signs subside. His voice he describes as smoky.

Even David Lynch from the Austin Chronicle praised the work. Especially liked the critics of the title Lucky Man, even the Dylan Cover Not Dark Yet he mentioned with praise. The tone of the songs he describes as bittersweet and nostalgic.

In addition, he was also placed in some regional charts on the foremost ranks.
