CIMRM

The corpus Inscriptionum et Monumentorum Religionis Mithriacae ( CIMRM ) is a directory of all the epigraphic and archaeological evidence of the ancient cult of Mithras, which was compiled by Maarten Jozef Vermaseren. It was published from 1956 to 1960 in two volumes.

The project was financed by the Koninklijke Academie voor Wetenschappen, Letteren en Schone Kunsten van België Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk and Onderzoek.

The CIMRN is still the basis of Mithrasforschung dar. Based on his work at the Corpus wrote Vermaseren in the following years, a human readable representation of the total, in 1959, first appeared in Dutch in 1965 was followed by a German translation.
