Cinca Medio

Cinca Medio is a Comarca (administrative unit ) of the Aragon Autonomous Community in Spain. It lies in the southeast of the province of Huesca in the middle reaches of the river Cinca. The comarca has an area of ​​576.6 km ² and 24,145 inhabitants 42 inhabitants per km ² one of the highest population densities among the Comarcas the sparsely populated Aragon. Capital is Monzón, the largest of the nine associated municipalities ( municipios ).

Cinca Medio is bordered to the west by the Monegros, in the northwest of Somontano de Barbastro, to the east by La Litera, and on the south by Bajo Cinca. Besides Monzón the comarca belong to the communities Albalate de Cinca, Alcolea de Cinca, Alfántega, Almunia de San Juan, Binaced, Fonz, Pueyo de Santa Cruz and San Miguel del Cinca.

The main economic sectors for the residents of the comarca are agriculture and industry in Monzón.
