Cipocereus bradei

Cipocereus bradei is a species of the genus Cipocereus in the cactus family ( Cactaceae ).

Description

Cipocereus bradei grows with branched stems that reach a height of up to 3.5 meters and diameter of 8-9 centimeters. The initially blue frosted shoots are later greyish blue. There are 8-9 bulged slightly, about 1 centimeter high and up to 2.5 inches wide ribs present, which are quergefurcht sharply between the oval, almost bare areolae. The spines are variable and often quite lacking on older drives. The 1-2 pungent, black central spines are directed downward or upward and to 3.5 inches long. The 4-5 marginal teeth are brownish and have a length of up to 1.5 centimeters.

The flowers are up to 7.5 centimeters long. Your Perikarpell and the corolla tube are blue frosting. The spherical, strong blue frosted fruits are smooth and bare. They have diameters of up to 5.5 inches.

Cipocereus bradei is common in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais in the region of Diamantina. The first description was in 1942 as Pilocereus bradei by Curt Backeberg and Otto full. Nigel Paul Taylor ( b. 1956 ) and Cristina Daniela Zappi (* 1965 ), they 1991 in the genus Cipocereus.

Cipocereus bradei was in the Red List of Threatened Species IUCN in 2002 as ' Endangered ( EN )', ie endangered classified. In 2013, the species as " Vulnerable (VU) ," ie, performed as endangered.
