Cislago

Cislago is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,084 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Varese, in the Lombardy region. The municipality is situated approximately kilometers from Milan and about km south of Varese to the Parco Pineta di Appiano Gentile. Cislago borders the provinces of Milan and Como.

History

Cislago is in the range of Golasecca culture. Some finds evidence of early settlement. In the Middle Ages the village, whose name is derived as evidenced by a document of 998 of cistellum, under the rule of the Visconti.
