Cissy van Bennekom
Francisca " Cissy " van Bennekom ( born July 19 1911 in Haarlem, North Holland, The Netherlands, † 1 March 2005 in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands) was a Dutch actress. In the 1930s she appeared in a series of popular movies.
Life
Cissy van Bennekom came 1928, a friend to the theater. Her debut was at the Nieuwe Nederlandsch Toneel as an elf in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. After several stage roles, she played in 1934 in the classic The three sailors her first film role. This was followed by six more films.
After the Second World War, Van Bennekom moved, apart from a brief stint in the cabaret by Wim Sonneveld, from the public gaze.
