Citharede
A Kitharöde (from Greek κιθαρῳδός; citharoedus Latin ) in ancient Greece was a poet who sang his poems themselves and thereby accompanied on the lyre. The Kitharöden formed part of the succession of the Homeric Aöden ( singer and poet folk epics ), while the rhapsodies recited epics.
Originally was on vocals and accompaniment on the lyre unison, what has changed since Archilochus or Krexos. Kitharöden wore a long chiton.
Known Kitharöden were Terpander and Arion of Lesbos. The vocals for the kithara was still popular in Roman times; the emperor Nero acted on a number as Kitharöde.
