Citov

Citov ( German Zittenhof, also Zittow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers west of Přerov and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

The Moravian village Citov located in the Hanna and extends along the left bank of the Morávka, an arm of the river Morava.

Neighboring towns are Brodek u Přerova in the northeast, Císařov in the east, Troubky in the south, and trnI Tovačov the southwest, Věrovany, Rakodavy and Nenakonice in the west and Dub nad Moravou in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Citov took place in 1283, was named as Milíč of Citov in a bishop's certificate as a witness. Since 1290 the village belonged to the Dominican monastery of St. Catherine in Olomouc.

In 1760 the monastery was built in a baroque castle Citov, which served as a summer residence. As part of the Josephine reforms in 1782, the monastery was dissolved. Citov belonged then to the religious fund. The manorial mill bought the Hofkommissar Freiherr von Kaschnitz.

1827 sold the Royal Chamber of the village to the brothers Johann and Franz Pauspertl of Drachenthal. Tobias Pauspertl let the old castle Impound and build an empire castle by the builder Rosa from Kroměříž in its place, which was completed in 1845.

After the abolition of patrimonial Citov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Kroměříž. 1880 were allocated to the district Přerov. 1908 was the castle with the inheritance Pauspertlschen the knights of Navarre, who owned it until 1945.

  • Water-mill, built in 1739 building is one of the oldest in Moravia and was declared a cultural monument. Since its emergence mill was implemented three times because of the March flood to new locations.
