Çivril

Çivril is the capital of the district of the Turkish province of Denizli. Çivril is located about 96 km northeast of the provincial capital of Denizli. According to the last census Çivril had 18 134 inhabitants ( 2012). With the associated villages and small towns, the population is 61 004.

The railway line was closed in 1988 and the Public transportation replaced by Intercity buses and dolmus.

Approximately 22 km east of Çivril is the Akdağ 2,449 meters. At the foot of the lake Akdağ Işıklı Gölü, opens its outflow into the Great Meander lies. The lake is an important fish reserve. Around the lake there are only small pensions, since hotel construction were banned in order to preserve the landscape, flora and fauna.
